BioniX Sim3 Pro: a unique measuring device


The BioniX Sim3 Pro is a new medical device for measuring the back and abdominal muscles. With a 3D measurement of functional movements the device helps you making a correct diagnosis. The effectiveness of any rehabilitation or training programs can be accurately monitored. The BioniX Sim3 Pro provides insight into the compensatory forces and supports both the constant force as the safe isokinetic evaluation methods. 


Compensatory forces


Compared to the existing uniaxial devices, the BioniX Sim3 Pro is taken into account the 3D compensatory forces which are deployed during the movement. The device helps you to determine the pathology precisely. In a single measurement any asymmetry is shown.

Sitting and standing test 


The BioniX Sim3 Pro offers the possibility to test standing as well as sitting. Biomechanically, the belly and back muscles work differently in a sitting position than in a standing position. A lot of back problems evolve out of a standing position, but many analytical and revalidation systems rehabilitate people in a sitting position, which is biomechanically and functionally very different from the positions in which they actually will be used.






The BioniX Sim3 Pro uses the isokinetic movement principles. Isokinetic movement means moving at a constant speed. The device regulates constant resistance as a function of the torque generated by the patient. This torque is registered and visualized over the entire range of motion.


Isokinetics is already widely used to measure 1D various joint movements in knees and ankles. The BioniX Sim3 Pro compensates dynamically gravitation and inertia so that only the forces of the patient remain: suited for initial rehabilitation after medical interventions.
